If you’ve ever taken a look at magazines full of beautiful women or perhaps the well known poker TV show World Poker Tour, then you should already know of Shana Hiatt. Do not mistake her for a professional poker player like Clonie Gowen or Annie Duke. In fact, she does not even play poker and stays away from all gambling as far as we know. Nevertheless, Shana is the hostess of the WPT show and a spokesperson at Party Poker. Shana Hiatt grew up in 1975 near New Jersey and Philadelphia. She spent much of her childhood travelling around the world with her parents and brother, as the family was in the military business. Before she turned 18, she had travelled more than most people do in a lifetime. When there’s little time and space for friends, television is usually a common replacement. Before she turned into a teenager, she was watching and studying anchors and newscasts regularly. Her fascination turned became somewhat of an obsession as she started imitating the news reporters. At that time of her life, her goal was to work with TV. Eventually, Shana had to go to high school. Her interests and activities reflect many of the high school movies of today. She did a lot of cheering, but also practised lacrosse and field hockey. In other words, she was far from a New Yorker who played street gin. Shana graduated with good grades and ended up at New Jersey’s Burlington County College where she studied journalism. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on the way you’re looking at it), she dropped out of school early after she was discovered by Ray Manzella. He is better known as the model agent who discovered Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy. Her beauty, charisma and talent swept her away. Her career got a powerful boost when she decided to undress in front of the camera. In her early 20’ies, Shana married the man she had always dreamt of. Some of you may lift an eyebrow or two when we reveal the husband’s name, James Van Patten. That’s right, Shana is married to World Poker Tour host and commentator Vince Van Patten’s brother. They both encouraged her to join the popular television show, which she did. Besides her World Poker Tour job, Shana is regularly seen in magazines and on other television shows. If you pass by her large mansion, you might see her engaged in yoga activities or toying around with her dog. |
